Telephone Reassurance

If you live alone and worry that you may fall and no one will find you, or if you live out of town and worry that no one checks on your parent, NOCCOA can help.

Each day (Monday through Friday) a person from NOCCOA will call to verify that everything is OK. These calls generally occur around 10:00 AM. If the person does not answer the phone, NOCCOA will call the emergency contact number, usually a neighbor or a child living near by. That person will personally check on the client. If we cannot verify the well-being of the client, NOCCOA will call the police and ask them to check on this person.

Telephone reassurance can provide peace of mind for a home bound person. This program is not appropriate for people that are not home at a regular time each day.

If you would like to learn more or be added to the call list, please call Grand Haven 616-842-9210. We will ask you to fill out a form, sign and return it to us. This service is free to all senior citizens, regardless of income, living in the NOCCOA service area.
